Climbing With A Cold

Catherine and I made plans without the knowledge of ClimbingDoug to go climbing after he got out of work. CD doesn't take much convincing, so we knew he'd be game. Our first destination was this beautiful church, right in the middle of the city. We ascended the scaffolding one stage at a time, ducking every now and then, so groups of drunk college idiots could pass by on the streets. Once at the top, we walked around on the giant green dome of the church, taking in the views of the city.

Next, we headed to an abandoned retail outlet in attempt to find our way inside and up to the roof. Thankfully, homeless people announce themselves, or we'd have walked right over the two sleeping near one of the sealed entrances, and the third sleeping in front of the other sealed entrance. Not wanting to bother any of them, we snapped these two shots and headed towards our next destination.

Next, a rather boring rooftop that held in my opinion the best view of Providence I've ever seen.

And another rooftop, offering again, another wonderful view.

And one more rooftop, for good measure and all.

We also climbed the church pictured in all these last shots, only to find a convent of nuns living at the top in an apartment above the church. We busted ass out of there with a quickness. The morning hours were quickly approaching, and people would soon be waking up to start their days all over again, so we headed home feeling accomplished in our adventures.
